In true CTG fashion, no self help stone goes unturned. Unpacking reflections from the previous track leads me to shift to what I can predict & control about myself.
The role I play in these relationships, no matter the title, share a similar responsibility. It feels like I’m a stepping stone or middle man to important revelations even at the expense of my own expansion. It feels like some kind of sadistic reward being the prologue to someone's story. Especially if the story turns out to be what I've been whispering for them to write all along. I would go back for more or over stay my welcome in partnership just to get bored or burn out, blaming them for an understanding I have long come to.
Accountability for me can teeter on this pick me ass self pity so it’s imperative with this project that discovery isn’t daunting. After The IFDED tour this role of The Revealer was solidified however I’ll be damned if I’m solely the soundtrack to angsty refusal of one's shortcomings. I take pride in illuminating paths but I’m not claiming stewardship over where they lead. I value emotional unearthing and expression but I urge the listener to keep that chin up and #move through it. So I'll be the first to do so.
This song covers my nasty habit of revisiting old memories but patting myself on the back for seeking balance and leaving the past in the past. Being clear with myself that I’ve got to raise my own standards and taking the first step to be met in the middle.
In the Eden we exist in, the first power was not temptation, but sovereignty. Not the garden of innocence, but the garden of agency and withdrawal here is not exile; it is a swift decision that does not ask permission. Eve did not disobey, she disagreed.
There is no serpent to battle, no audience to persuade. Only information, quietly absorbed, then acted upon accurately. The power is in acting before language curdles into spectacle, before pain is turned into proof. This is not purity; it is refusal. An anti-fall. A choosing of disappearance over self betrayal.
Withholding is feminine intelligence. Eve is a curator of consequence, not its victim. She does not perform purity. She does not pretend to indulge your notions. She lets her hunger lead her yet she remains unconsumed.
Femininity here is atmospheric: a pressure change, a climate shift, something sensed before it is seen. When the terms shifted she noticed that affection was becoming performance, that staying would require explanation and translation she was not versed in. The more radical act remains available: to leave the garden without explaining herself. This reframing recasts heartbreak as inheritance rather than damage. It aligns loss with cleansing and feminine flight—not as retreat, but as discernment. Leaving becomes an act of wisdom, a recognition that meaning can persist even when permanence cannot.
I held the truth the way one holds fruit in the palm: aware of its sour, aware of its consequence, free to decide whether it needed to be bitten at all. I offered Adam a piece, I hoped he would be curious about the other side of it all, how I was. He wasn’t.
I wasn’t exiled from Eden, I walked away with it.
